Pluchea

Scientific name of Pluchea: Pluchea lanceolata/Berthelotia lanceolata

Name of Pluchea-Rasna in different languages:-

English: Rasna, Camphorweed, Indian Camphorweed, Indian Fleabane

Sanskrit:रसना Rasna, Rasya, Sreyasi, suvaha, Elaparni, सुरभी Surabhi, युक्ता yukta

Hindi: Phaar

Tamil: Arattai, Sittarattai

Malayalam: Rasna

Plant description:

It is grow as a weed, undershrub, grow up to 1.5 m tall,branched, color whitish or greyish. Leaves are long, leathery, lanceshaped, sessile, 1 to 7 cm long and 0.3 to 2 cm wide, a tiny point at the apex, margin is entire, toothed at the tip. Flower are purplish,bell-shaped,up to 5 mm in diameter, arranged in in clusters at branch end, flowering season March to August. The fruits are small, white, linear, hairless, seeds are single.

Inflammations,bronchitis, psoriasis, swellings of joint, arthritis, rheumatism and neurological diseases cough, piles.

Antipyretic, analgesic, laxative and nervine tonic.
