Red physic nut

Scientific name of Red physic nut: Baliospermum montanum (Wild.)

Name of Red physic nut in different languages:-

English: wild castor, wild croton,  wild sultan seed

Sanskrit: हस्तिदंती Hastidanti, दन्तिका dantika, एरण्डपत्रिका erandhapatrika, एरण्डफला erandhaphala

Hindi: दन्ती danti

Malayalam: Nagadandi നാഗദന്തി, Dandi ദന്തി

Tamil: Peyamanakku-பேயாமணக்கு  

Plant description:

Red physic nut (Baliospermum montanum) is a stout under shrub, grows to 0.9 to 1.8 m tall, leaves are simple, toothed, some what palmate, with 3 to 5 lobed, flowers are numerous, arranged in axillary racemes. Fruits are obovoid, capsule contained ellipsoid, smooth seeds.

To treat fever, jaundice, constipation, piles, anemia, conjunctivitis, abdominal pain, constipation, calculus, general anasarca, piles, helminthic infestation, scabies and skin disorders, asthma.

Montanum, Anti-leukemic and cytotoxic.
