Scientific name of Wild-sweetsop: Annona reticulata 

Name of Wild-sweetsop in different languages:-

English: Ox-heart, bull's heart.

Sanskrit: Krishnabijam Parushphalam, Gandagatra

Hindi: Rama phal

Malayalam: Ramappazham- രാമപ്പഴം, Aatha, (ആത്ത)

Plant description:

It is a  sub-shrub or medium deciduous tree  growing up to 2 to 4 m in height, with many branches, bark are light brown, leaves seems singly and sized 6 to 17 length and 3 to 6 cm width, flowers are greenish-yellow in color and fragrant.Fruits are conical in shape and segmented size with 5 to 10 cm its color is bluish green, when it ripe flesh is creamy white to light yellow and fragrant and sweet, and resembles the taste of custard.

Medicinal uses:

To treat Tuberculosis, Blood pressure, swelling, The Fruits, seeds, Roots and Leaves are used for gastrointestinal diseases, respiratory diseases, inflammatory diseases, anaemia, vomiting, cough, malignancy and general tonic.

Chemical content:

Diterpenoid, alkaloid, atisine, acetogenins.

How to prepare  medicines:

Leaves grind with raw turmeric and apply on affected area tree or more times a day is very effective for swelling.
