White Mustard Plant

Scientific name of Mustard: Sinapis alba/Brassica alba    

Name of Mustard in different languages:

English: American Yellow Mustard

Sanskrit: Sarshapa

 Hindi: Rayi राई, Sarson

 Malayalam: Vella kaduku-വെള്ളകടുക്    

Tamil: Kaduku-கடுகு

Plant description:


white-mustard-VellakkadukWhite mustard is an annual, grow up to 70 cm tall,  an erect,  leaves are pinnately arranged, pale green, leaves are comparatively bigger than mustard, flowers are yellow in color, thick, and born in branch end as clusters, and it is very attractive,  seeds contain in a pod 1 to 1.5 inch in length, and it is green, it becomes pale yellow when it is ripe.
