Suicide tree

Scientific name of Suicide tree: Cerbera odollam Gaertn

Name of Suicide tree in different languages:-

Malayalam: Othalam, Chattan kaya- ഒതളം,ചട്ടൻകായ

Sanskrit: Svanamara, Auddalaka

Hindi: Dabur, Sukanu

English: Odollam tree, Dog-bane, Suicide tree, Pilikirbir, Pong-pong

Plant Description:-

Suicide tree or Pong-pong is shrub or small tree grows up to 5 m. in tall, leaves are green in color, terminally ganged, with tapering at the base, accumulate apex, flowers are white with five petals are yellow dot in the middle, fruits are green, looks like a small mango, ovoid sized 2 cm and 1.5 cm. which is toxic, plant produce a milky white latex.
