Prickly Amaranth

Scientific name of Prickly Amaranth: Amaranthus spinosus 

Name of Prickly Amaranth in different languages:-

English: Spiny amaranth, Needle burr, Thorny amaranth

Sanskrit: Tanduliuyah

Hindi: कांटेमाठ kante math

Tamil: முள்ளுக்கீரை mullukkeerai

Malayalam: Mullancheera, Kattumullenkeera

Plant description:

It is an annual herb, erect, branched, grow up to 150 cm long. Leaves are ovate, elliptic, oblong, or lanceolate, leaf blades up to 12 cm long, and smooth. Flowers are green, found in axillaries clusters, the lower part un-branched.
