Plant description:

Fox-grape is a vine climbs with tendrils, commonly found in wasteland areas, forest opening areas, abandoned places etc, the leaves are tri-foliolate with petioles 2-3 cm long.The leaflets are oblong-ovate, 2 to 8 cm long, 1.5 to 5 cm wide, pointed at the apex, and toothed margins. The flowers are small greenish white and borne clusters on solitary cymes in the leaf axils. The fruits are berries fleshy, juicy, greenish black, and about 1 cm in diameter, it become pale reddish white when ripe.

Anticancer  activity, antidiabetic, antibacterial,  antioxidants, anti-ulcerogenic, root can be used as an  antidote against the snake-bite poison.

Medicinal uses:

To treat Vata and Kapha disorders, tumours, fever, neuralgia and splenopathy, and gives for hepatopathy, cardiac disorders, ulcers, wounds. It purifies the blood. The root of the plant ground with black pepper can be  applied to boils.
