Different Ayurveda treatments methods
Pizhichil is a method of Ayurvedic therapy with a combination of two classical Ayurvedic treatments methods, Snehana, and Swedana. The whole body is bathed in a stream of lukewarm medicated oil with gentle massage. Pizhichil protects the body from illnesses and helps to increase immunity power.
Njavarakizhi is a type of Ayurveda therapy by applying a generous amount of medicated oil to the whole body and then the body is massaged with small cotton cloth filled with cooked Njavara rice called Kizhi. This Kizhi is dipped in a mixture of cow’s milk and a brewed herbal mixture and applied all over the body to generate sweat. It enhances the physical condition, induce the nervous system and get a glaze on the skin.
Sirodhara is a method in the Ayurvedic treatment process of pouring of medicated oils and other liquids applying to our forehead is called Sirodhara. Siro means Head and Dhara means flow. Sirodhara ia an Ayurvedic treatment method. A flow of aromatic oils on the forehead between eyebrows which leads to balancing effect on the deepest recesses of the brain, the lukewarm medicated oils are allowed to flow over the scalp and through the hair for a defined period. A gentle relaxing massage accompanies this oil. It is an effective therapy for mental relaxation. The procedure is also enhancing blood circulation to the brain, generally releasing deeply trapped toxins.
Vasti is an Ayurvedic treatment method to expel body toxins and vitiated doshas by introducing medicated liquids or oils through the anus, urethra or vagina. This treatment is used to flush out the loosened doshas through the intestinal tract. Applying sesame oil, calamus oil, or other medicated decoctions mix in a liquid medium through the rectum to flush out doshas. This method is medicated Enema removing unwanted internal substances by applying herbal extracts or medicated oils.
Sirovasthi is an Ayurvedic treatment method to washing of head by using of some lukewarm oils are poured in cap fitted at the head. Sirovasthi is the retention of warm medicated oil over the head for a certain time. This oil is a prepared mixture of gingerly oil, castor oil, ghee, common milk, and medicated herbs like Indian country mallow-Bala, winter cherry, black gram, castor oil plant, Bacopa Brahmi etc.
