Plant description
Chinese Rain Bells is a shrub, up to 1 meter high, hairy, mostly found in Western ghats, wet forests and plane areas. Leaves are oppositely arranged with the serrated margin and hairy. Flowers are blue, 1 to 1.2 cm long, borne in axillary spikes flowering is September - October. Seeds are containing in a capsule measured 6 to 8 mm long and oblong. Root is black and fibrous.
