Plant description:

Blue Justicia is a shrub, found in partially shaded areas, evergreen forests, wetland areas etc., spiny, grows up to 2 m tall, leaves are green, elliptic-oblong, tapered at both ends, velvety, flowers are four sided spikes, seen at the end of branches, The roots of this plant is the useful part which is used to treat jaundice.

Medicinal uses:

Blue Justicia plant is used in the treatment of gout and dysuria and a decoction of leaves is used for stiffness, the root of this plant is given in jaundice, menorrhagia, and rheumatic disorders.
